Meeting & Signing · True Love by ARDPG

Valentine’s Day is coming soon! The Bookshop by Fluctuart invites you to come and celebrate love on the occasion of the release of the sculpture “True Love” by ARDPG. The artist will be present from 3pm to 5pm at the Bookshop on Sunday 12 February. We look forward to seeing you there!

ABOUT THE SCULPTURES
Passionate about art and architecture, ARDPG always seeks, through his work, to create visual contrasts, to dig into the surface of things in order to invite us to understand that what we look at is only a part of creation and that it is up to each of us to look further to obtain more artistic answers. In an age where everything is speed, ARDPG’s work on words invites the spectators to stop and take the time to read and decipher his message. His architectures of letters, or moucharabiehs of words, play with materials and light to develop works that evolve with their environments. In 2022, ARDPG created a large work TRUE LOVE which adorns the rooftop of Fluctuart. Today, ARDPG and Fluctuart wanted to offer this work in an edition of 100 copies on a 1/8 scale. In order to respect the values and the artistic commitment of the artist, the production was made in France and in wood from the South West. Thus each piece of this series will be unique because it will include all the aesthetic magic of this material, with its knots, its roughness and this reference to the original piece that the plastic would not have highlighted. TRUE LOVE is a sculpture of cut and painted wood. These words are treated like a fossil found, an archaeological element that resurfaces. Love always comes to the fore and adapts to all the facets of our desires. Abused, forgotten, hidden but always there, ARDPG brings back true love in an archaeology of words, that each one will interpret and adapt to his desires…

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in 1980, Arnaud Puig aka ARDPG is an artist from Bordeaux. In the middle of the 90s, he started to write graffiti in the city and on vacant lots. In the early 2000s, he began studying art history at university, which fuelled his love for art. He then decided to start a work on canvas where he would combine his passions for architecture, lines and words. With a 5-year degree in art history in hand, he left Bordeaux for Paris where he lived and worked for 15 years as an assistant to a major designer, but also in his studio where he began to produce works that were visible in galleries. In 2015, he decided to return to Bordeaux with his family while continuing his artistic career. In parallel to his exhibitions and travels, he was recruited by the Ecole de Condé, then the Ecole de Communication Visuelle and now the ICART to pass on his knowledge in art history. His artistic universe is always anchored in this history of art and he always tries with his words or his visual contrasts to dig the surface of things in order to show that what we look at is only a part of the creation and it is up to us to look further to obtain artistic answers…
ARDPG now exhibits in galleries and museums in France and abroad.
