NOUVELLES SÉRIGRAPHIES : RENCONTRE AVEC THEO LOPEZ

Le Bookshop est heureux d’annoncer la sortie de deux nouvelles sérigraphies réhaussées de Théo Lopez. L’artiste sera présent au Bookshop de Fluctuart le samedi 14 septembre à partir de 15h pour une rencontre et séance de dédicaces. 

A propos de l’artiste : 

Théo Lopez s’est investi très jeune dans une démarche artistique. En 2008, sa rencontre avec le collectif 9ème Concept l’incite à prendre un virage pictural décisif. Mu par une curiosité grandissante grâce à ses nombreux voyages en Russie, en Israël ou aux Etats-Unis , il étend sa vision au-delà de ses aspirations originelles. A 35 ans, il partage son univers singulier à travers un œil aiguisé. Théo Lopez bascule dans l’abstrait, sa recherche est aujourd’hui guidée par un besoin de revenir aux fondements, à l’essence même de sa ligne. À l’instar des Constructivistes Russes, de l’expressionnisme allemand et en particulier le «Blaue Reiter» de Kandinsky et Marc. Il élabore une poésie dans le travail de la matière, de la ligne et de la couleur. L’expérimentation fait partie intégrante du processus créatif de l’artiste. La création d’une œuvre oscille ainsi constamment entre deux concepts opposés mais complémentaires : réflexion et spontanéité. Son premier travail, spontané et intuitif, se forme d’écritures aléatoires courbes et de gestuelles qu’il structure ensuite avec des lignes droites et des formes géométriques. Cette opération répétée engendre une transformation. L’artiste ne suit pas de cheminement pré défini, la peinture se construit en temps réel. Découper, casser, tracer, structurer, recouvrir, ajouter, gratter, dissimuler, révéler…Théo Lopez conçoit la peinture comme un sculpteur, jouant avec l’aléatoire et provoquant l’accident pour s’en inspirer. De la métamorphose émane une poésie hybride. Les différentes couches se fondent, les couleurs dialoguent, les lignes vibrent et se répondent, la peinture accumulée prend du relief. Ces contrastes évoquent des flux d’énergies, des lueurs subconscientes, la toile est habitée. Articulant de cette façon toutes ces contradictions apparentes, il réussit à réveiller entre elles de secrètes harmoniques, qui en définitive vont devenir la signature de son propre style.

NEW SCREEN PRINTS: MEETING WITH THEO LOPEZ

The Bookshop is delighted to announce the release of two new enhanced screen prints by Théo Lopez. The artist will be at the Fluctuart Bookshop on Saturday 14 September from 3pm for a meeting and signing session.

About the artist:

Théo Lopez began his artistic career at a very young age. In 2008, his encounter with the 9th Concept collective prompted him to take a decisive pictorial turn. Driven by a growing curiosity thanks to his many trips to Russia, Israel and the United States, he has extended his vision beyond his original aspirations. At the age of 35, he shares his singular universe through a sharpened eye. Théo Lopez has moved into the abstract, and his research is now guided by a need to return to the foundations, the very essence of his line. Following in the footsteps of the Russian Constructivists, German Expressionism and, in particular, the ‘Blaue Reiter’ of Kandinsky and Marc. He develops a poetry in the work of matter, line and colour. Experimentation is an integral part of the artist’s creative process. The creation of a work constantly oscillates between two opposing but complementary concepts: reflection and spontaneity. His first work, spontaneous and intuitive, takes the form of random curved writings and gestures, which he then structures with straight lines and geometric shapes. This repeated operation produces a transformation. The artist does not follow a predefined path, painting is a process.

Cutting, breaking, tracing, structuring, covering, adding, scratching, concealing, revealing… Théo Lopez conceives painting like a sculptor, playing with the random and provoking accidents to draw inspiration from them. Metamorphosis gives rise to hybrid poetry. The different layers merge, the colours interact, the lines vibrate and respond to each other, and the accumulated paint takes on relief. These contrasts evoke flows of energy, subconscious glimmers, the canvas is inhabited. Articulating all these apparent contradictions in this way, he succeeds in awakening secret harmonies between them, which will ultimately become the signature of his own style.
