Meet & Greet with Romain Froquet on Thursday, June 18, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
To celebrate the release of his new book
The Fluctuart Bookshop is pleased to welcome Romain Froquet for a special event celebrating the release of his new book Gesture, which chronicles more than twenty years of artistic creation.
Born in 1982, Romain Froquet has developed a distinctive body of work at the intersection of abstract art, urban art, and cultural influences gathered during his travels. His work revolves around the concept of connection: connections between people, between humanity and nature, and between places, cultures, and imaginations. Through a visual language based on curved lines, movement, and color, the artist creates vibrant works in which each stroke becomes a symbol of an invisible bond.
Influenced by the great pioneers of abstract painting such as Arshile Gorky, Jackson Pollock, and Willem de Kooning, Romain Froquet explores a sensitive form of abstraction that invites viewers to look beyond the tangible and perceive the currents flowing through the contemporary world. In an increasingly connected world, his works examine the human and natural networks that bind us together. The line thus becomes a universal language, capable of giving form to exchanges, trajectories, and encounters.
Designed as a gradual immersion into his world, this book traces his artistic journey through drawings, paintings, installations, and site-specific works created in France and around the world. It reveals the evolution of his ongoing exploration of gesture, color, and the concept of connection, offering a fresh perspective on one of the leading figures in the contemporary art scene.
Following the event, a book signing will give the public an opportunity to chat with the artist and explore this book, which celebrates more than two decades of artistic creation and exploration.
