The Bookshop is delighted to welcome Les Toqué Frères on Saturday April 5, from 3pm to 5pm, for a signing session of their new monograph La vie est belle!published by Alternatives.
About the book :
Painters "in being" and in spirit, the Toqué Frères have been embellishing our urban landscapes for 10 years, bringing color and messages filled with humor and poetry. We take a look back at this decade of creation in the form of a cheerful primer, in which the words and quotations chosen sketch a light-hearted portrait, but not the only one, of an artistic duo who consider the street to be their most beautiful exhibition space, even if they also frequent galleries for the pleasure of collectors. From A to Z, but without the "N", Félix and Marin Toqué invite us to follow them into their resolutely offbeat and euphoric universe.
About the artists:
Les Toqué Frères embellish living spaces with color, horizons and positive messages. The principle behind their work is simple. So simple, in fact, that it's radically original: sharing happiness and encouraging benevolence through direct messages that seek to put a smile on the face of the reader. Positive messages to awaken positive reactions and sensations. Rather than social protest, their work is social action: they act to create a strong, instant and lasting effect. As a result, they are often thanked for brightening up grey days.
