Come meet the author and (re)discover the history of French street art.
We hope to see many of you there!

About the book
In the early 1980s in Paris, art escaped from museums! The blame lies with a young generation of pirate artists who decided to rebel against the established order and institutions by taking painting out of its traditional setting. Now, the street is their gallery. How many are there? Who are they? It's hard to say. They are known as urban savages. They have nothing to do with American graffiti and hip hop culture. Art students raised on punk, they are grouped together in collectives, adept at forbidden performances, acting without authorization. Their playgrounds are catacombs, abandoned factories, construction site hoardings, billboards, and concrete walls. They don't know it yet, but they have just laid the foundations for what will soon be called street art. With exclusive interviews with key figures from the historical scene : Jérôme Mesnager, Blek le Rat, Speedy Graphito, the VLP., Banlieue Banlieue...
