Les Amazones II - Brazil in the spotlight - Open-air summer exhibition

To coincide with the France-Brazil season, Fluctuart hosts the second edition of Amazones, bringing together 5 Brazilian artists on the urban art center's summer terrace.

Inspired by Brazilian landscapes, popular culture and the traditions of indigenous peoples, the set design for Amazons II recreates an immersive experience where nature reclaims its rights, offering a space for contemplation and strolling. It incorporates natural and symbolic elements such as Dracaena trifasciata and renda de bilros, echoing the coastal lifestyles of northeastern Brazil.

This composition, both aesthetic and contemplative, explores the dialogue between man and his environment. It invites us to slow down, to reconnect with nature and to experience a suspended moment where ancestral, spiritual and modern elements meet in harmony.

The Fluctuart terrace thus becomes a place where urban beach meets Brazilian cultural diversity and craftsmanship, offering a sensory and introspective journey into the heart of a welcoming jungle.

Curator's statement: Agathae Montecinos

The second edition of Amazones brings together 5 Brazilian artists - Drika Chagas, Mura, Rafaella Braga, Sayonara Pinheiro and Tereza Dequinta - on the Fluctuart terrace.

These in situ works, specially designed for the space, form a rich dialogue between ancestral and collective identity. They also evoke the reappropriation of nature in the city, imagined as a welcoming urban jungle.

This exhibition resonates with the forthcoming COP30 in Belém and highlights the environmental emergency through intimate and universal narratives. Drawing on materials, symbols and inspirations rooted in their home territories, the artists explore the profound links between cultural memory and contemporary ecology.

"Les Amazones II" celebrates the creative power of women and their essential role in societal transformation. This ambitious project offers a space of expression to artists who sensitively and forcefully question our relationship with nature, with others and with the collective narratives that shape our world.

Exhibition in partnership with Pixo and Terrart

Many thanks to our partner @lefrancbourgeoisofficiel for the painting, without whom the artists would not have been able to produce the works.
