SKETCH, FROM SKETCH TO GRAFFITI │30 YEARS OF GRAFFITI HISTORY

The Sketch exhibition developed by TAXIE GALLERY offers an unprecedented dive into the secret archives of graffiti-writing. Through an exceptional collection of over 200 works, this event reveals a totally unknown practice of this movement: drawing, from the preparatory sketch to the work of art. Sketch, from October 13, 2021 to March 06, 2022.

Deliberately focusing solely on the French school, and in contrast to exhibitions to date which have reduced and categorized the work to the American school and its achievements, "Sketch, from sketch to graffiti" offers a thorough examination of the neglected passages in the history of contemporary graffiti, and demonstrates the aesthetic richness that France has brought to the art world over the past thirty years.

Spread over 200m2 hosted by FLUCTUART, the world's first floating urban art center, open to all the disciplines of urban players, the exhibition Sketch, from sketch to graffiti is divided into several chapters (history and influences, sketches, black-books, old and new schools) and examines all aspects and media. Enriched by performances, in situ works, lectures, round-table discussions, projections and tributes, it offers an intimate, generous, rich and colorful insight into a still protected and preserved part of graffiti writing and the secret archives of its protagonists.
