FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Rouge Hartley

Jessica Hartley, known as Rouge, graduated from the Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux in 2014 with a body of work in video, performance and installation, yet has been developing her obsession with drawing and painting ever since. A complete artist, she is interested in the space of the city as a source of intervention and inspiration. Her pictorial work is both narrative and plastic. Rouge paints fables that we could easily make our own.

Languid figures, their bodies seemingly abandoned, stand in a domestic setting, on a bed or on the floor, covered or surrounded by drapes and fabrics with superb, unostentatious motifs. It is the poetry emanating from this intimate sphere that we are lucky enough to admire in the form of a beautiful painting, executed in oils, a reflection of restrained emotions. The work of Rouge, an emerging artist, is already well known in Bordeaux and the surrounding region. Following on from her fine work at the Base Sous-Marine and at the Institut culturel Bernard Magrez for an exhibition devoted to women artists, Rouge will be holding a solo exhibition at Château Labottière in 2019.

Enaer

Originally from Paris, Enaer lives and works in Montpellier. A graffiti artist with a passion for drawing since childhood, he paints dynamic, spontaneous works with rigour.

Today, his work focuses on portraits and characters with a graphic style, which come to life thanks to his precise gestures and raw, unadulterated lines, revealing the lines of construction. The multiplication of tools and materials allows him to diversify techniques in an urban and original universe. Versatile, he also works in the fields of graphic design and interior decoration.
