“SENS DESSUS DESSOUS”: ART IN THE SPOTLIGHT ON THE BANKS OF THE SEINE

From 23 June – Olympic and Paralympic Day – to 23 September 2022, the Paris Port Community, in partnership with HAROPA PORT and the City of Paris, is inviting five artists to take over the underside of the bridges of Paris.

Sens dessus dessous, la Seine Artistique proposes an unexpected and original journey along the quays of the Seine to rediscover places charged with history and to prefigure the legacy of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

For three months, five artists pay tribute to and bring to life the hidden face of five bridges through installations, frescoes and projections:

  • Amsted under the Alma bridge
  • Philippe Écharoux under the Pont Marie
  • Erell under the Simone de Beauvoir bridge
  • ID Textile – Marion & Sylvie Breton under the Bir-Hakeim bridge
  • Sébastien Preschoux under the Léopold Sédar Senghor bridge
ID Textile – Pont de Bir-Hakeim
Erell – Passerelle Simone-de-Beauvoir

Amsted – Pont de l’Alma

The works of art highlight these bridges, which are real links between the two banks and the city’s districts. This artistic operation is intended to be repeated in order to improve these places in the long term and make their redevelopment a true cultural legacy of the Games for the benefit of all.

An exhibition curated by Nicolas Laugero-Lasserre.
