Screening Ernest Pignon-Ernest

Screening on Thursday 7 March of Jean-Pierre Larcher’s film Les Mains Magnétiques, about the life of Ernest Pignon-Ernest.

Ernest Pignon Ernest is a French visual artist and is considered one of the precursors of urban art in France.

This film recounts the major stages of his considerable body of work, which began in the 1960s on the Plateau d’Albion and culminated in Extases at the Abbatiale de Bernay.

The film gives way to his words, words that are free, generous and committed.

Ernest Pignon Ernest’s hands are old, they come from far away, from Caravaggio to Titian, from Masaccio to Greco His works speak to us. They turn our streets into fictional spaces, reminiscences and rituals.
