About the book

L’encyclopédie du Merveilleux is a collection curated by artist Benjamin Lacombe. These albums brilliantly revisit the worlds that have always inhabited our imaginations. In this 4th volume, devoted to monsters, Stan Manoukian’s drawings plunge us into a dreamlike, fantastical world, accompanied by texts by Sébastien Perez. Don’t wait any longer!

About the artist

Stan Manoukian is part of the post-lowbrow generation worldwide, with extremely detailed compositions teeming with dreamlike creatures. An heir to Gustave Doré, Franklin Booth and Bernie Wrightson, Stan Manoukian refines his unique graphic style using a hatching and blurring technique that produces an engraving-like effect in ink or graphite. Now internationally recognised, his work has been the subject of several exhibitions and books in the United States, Japan, Australia, France and Europe.
