TANIA MOURAUD │ DANS LES VENTS DE L’OUBLI
Du 16 février au 28 avril 2024, Fluctuart invite Tania Mouraud à son bord pour une exposition personnelle intitulée « Dans les vents de l’oubli ».
L’artiste, parmi les pionnières de l’art urbain, y fait dialoguer des recherches actuelles et antérieures où l’écriture comme matériau plastique exprime un désir de liberté et d’insoumission. Les onze compositions typographiques (en autant de langues) de la série DREAM (1992-2005), dont la source est la phrase de Martin Luther King, I have a dream côtoient ANSKI (2023) et OYSES TRERN (2023), une intervention murale et une impression sur textile qui puisent leur origine dans un poème yiddish de Shalom Anski évoquant les inégalités sociales.
Par ce dialogue, Tania Mouraud explore l’histoire de la révolte contre les injustices et donne à voir l’universalité de ce besoin, toujours actuel, de créer un monde meilleur. Artiste contemporaine majeure de la scène française et internationale, Tania Mouraud travaille depuis les années 1960 aussi bien la photographie et la vidéo que l’installation, la performance, le livre d’artiste et la peinture sous de multiples formes. Ses recherches sont traversées par une colère face à l’indignité et à la destruction de la nature.
Sa réflexion sur notre positionnement dans le monde a engendré une œuvre forte et engagée, qui nous interpelle. Exposée à l’international, ainsi que par de nombreuses collections publiques en France dont une rétrospective au centre Pompidou-Metz en 2015, elle est actuellement représentée par la galerie Ceysson & Bénétière.

From 16 February to 28 April 2024, Fluctuart invites Tania Mouraud on board for a solo exhibition entitled “Dans les vents de l’oubli”. Join us on Thursday 15 February from 6pm for the opening!
Tania Mouraud, one of the pioneers of urban art, is bringing together current and earlier research, using writing as a plastic material to express a desire for freedom and insubordination. The eleven typographical compositions (in as many languages) in the DREAM series (1992-2005), whose source is Martin Luther King’s phrase I have a dream, sit alongside ANSKI (2023) and OYSES TRERN (2023), a mural intervention and a print on textile that take their inspiration from a Yiddish poem by Shalom Anski evoking social inequality.
Through this dialogue, Tania Mouraud explores the history of the revolt against injustice and reveals the universality of the need, still present today, to create a better world. A major contemporary artist on the French and international scene, Tania Mouraud has been working with photography and video since the 1960s, as well as with installation, performance, artist’s books and painting in a wide variety of forms. Her work is permeated by anger at the indignity and destruction of nature.
Her reflections on our position in the world have given rise to a strong, committed body of work that calls out to us all. Her work has been exhibited internationally, as well as in numerous public collections in France, including a retrospective at the Centre Pompidou-Metz in 2015. She is currently represented by Galerie Ceysson & Bénétière.
